Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) participates in McGEA through the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) that is a center of excellence in the design, construction, and testing of cell factories by developing and perfecting foundational engineering approaches for biomanufacturing. It brings to McGEA the expertise in: 

• know-how on machine learning based protein engineering, 
• advanced approaches that combine bioinformatics, protein modeling, directed evolution, enzymology, and metabolic engineering to improve enzyme activity, expression, selectivity, and stability.
